The Official Online Training Program for the California International Marathon has everything you need to run your first or your fastest marathon: experienced coaches, ability-based training plans, marathon specific seminars, weekly coach check-ins, and more.
All participants receive 18-week training plans designed for three different goals: Finish, Improve, and Perform. Choose which plan is right for you based on your ability level and goals.
Finish: Complete your first marathon
Improve: Become a faster, stronger marathoner
Perform: Chase a PR or qualify for a dream race
Each level of training plan increases the weekly running miles, intensity of speed workouts, and distance of long runs. All plans require athletes to be comfortable with 4-5 days of running per week (45+ min per run for the last 4-6 weeks) and long runs of at least 6 miles.
No prior marathon training experience is required. The Finish program is for runners with minimal prior experience training for the half marathon distance.
