Race a Trail Half

You're a solid runner, but do you know how to translate your skills to the trail? If you've signed up for a trail half marathon this year, here's where you should start.

Coach Shane Williams is an experienced ultramarathoner who will help you develop foundational trail running skills and endurance to run a half on dirt, mud, rocks, hills, and anything else you might come across on race day.

The Trail Half team includes:

  • A 12 week training plan of road running, trail running, strength and agility workouts to give you the endurance and stability you'll need on varied terrain.

  • Text support from Shane Williams every week for advice and motivation.

  • Two live coaching sessions a month to discuss gear, nutrition, workouts, and everything else about trailrunning.

Who should join:

Beginner and intermediate trail runners looking to run a trail half or increase their skills and endurance. You should be able to run 5 miles continuously (even if it's slow!) at the start of the plan.

Coach Shane expertly guided me to reach my goals, answered questions, and kept me motivated until race day. While he focused on the details of my training, I was able to save my energy for putting in the hard work on the track and trails.

I am currently using Bird Coach with Team Dirt and Vert and love it! Each day I have an assigned workout (run or cross training), and one day of rest.
